Heavy Weapons Platoon
A Heavy Weapons Platoon consists of a Command Squad – a Junior Officer and his attendant staff, bought from the Command Squad entry – and from 1 to 3 Support squads.
Each Platoon counts as a single Heavy Support choice on the Force Organisation chart when deploying, and is rolled for collectively when rolling for reserves. Otherwise, they function as independent units.
1-3 Support Squads
A Heavy Weapons Platoon must have 1-3 Support units, chosen from the following units: Anti-tank squad, Fire Support squad, Mortar squad.
Errata — Chapter Approved: Codex: Imperial Guard Q&A (v1.0): A heavy weapon team (the gunner plus his loader/ammo-carrier) is treated as two separate models based together purely for convenience of movement — the second model can fire his own lasrifle in the same Shooting phase the other fires the heavy weapon, both count fully for template hits, and each is removed as a casualty independently rather than the pair being removed together as if they were one model.
