Dreadnought 75 4 4 6(10) 12 12 10 4 3

Type: Walker

Crew: One Chaos Space Marine

Weapons: The Chaos Dreadnought is armed with a Dreadnought close combat weapon incorporating a twin-linked bolter in one arm and one weapon from the following list in the other: twin-linked autocannon at +35 pts; twin-linked lascannon at + 50 pts; twin-linked heavy bolter at +30 pts; multi-melta at +40 pts, or a plasma cannon at +40 pts.

Options: Instead of a ranged weapon, a Chaos Dreadnought can have an additional Dreadnought close combat weapon incorporating a twin-linked bolter at +15 pts. This will add +1 to the number of Attacks on the profile above. It is unlikely this component will be made for the Dreadnought but is included for those interested in doing conversions. If used, neither arm can be replaced with a missile launcher.

A single twin-linked bolter may be upgraded to a heavy flamer at an extra cost of +12 pts. The Dreadnought may replace one close combat arm (along with its twin-linked bolter) with a missile launcher at an additional cost of +10 pts. This reduces its Attacks characteristic to 2, its Strength to 6, and it no longer counts as being armed with a Dreadnought close combat weapon.

The Dreadnought may be equipped with any vehicle upgrades and Gifts allowed from the Chaos Space Marine Armoury.

Special Rules

Fire Frenzy. At the start of the Movement phase, before moving the Dreadnought roll on the chart below for each Dreadnought which is either mobile or has at least one functioning weapon system:

D6 Result
1 Blood Rage. The Dreadnought may not fire this turn, but instead must move 6+D6" towards the nearest enemy model or unit. The Dreadnought must assault this unit in the Assault phase if able, and will double its basic Attacks characteristic. If already in close combat, the Dreadnought will continue to fight with double its Attacks characteristic. If the Dreadnought is immobilised and not in close combat treat this result as Fire Frenzy.
2-5 Move and shoot normally.
6 Fire Frenzy. The Dreadnought may not move or assault this turn, but instead must shoot all of its weapons TWICE at the nearest enemy model or unit. If no enemy targets are visible or in range it will fire at the nearest friendly unit that is visible and in range instead. If the Dreadnought has no functioning weapons or no possible targets in range treat this result as Blood Rage instead.

Errata — Chapter Approved: Codex: Chaos Space Marines Q&A (v3.0): A Dreadnought with two Dreadnought close combat weapons that is also affected by Blood Rage gets 7 Attacks: 3 base, doubled to 6 for Blood Rage, plus 1 for the additional close combat weapon.
