Daemon Flight

The model is able to fly using a mechanical device such as a jump pack or on mighty daemonic wings. It moves as if it has a Jump Pack (see main rulebook, page 92).

The model does not have to fly and may always choose to move as infantry in any Movement or Assault phase. Because of the bulk of its wings and/or jet packs a model with daemonic flight may not be transported aboard a vehicle.

Errata — Chapter Approved: Codex: Chaos Space Marines Q&A (v3.0): Daemonic Flight grants a 3D6" Pursuit/Fall Back move, like Daemonic Speed and a Daemonic Steed. It cannot be combined with Daemonic Speed. Daemonic Flight takes precedence over Blood Rage/Slaanesh Frenzy effects — a jump pack (or equivalent) model does not move any faster from being subject to Blood Rage, though the ability's other effects still apply; the same logic applies to any special movement mode, none of them gain extra movement from Blood Frenzy. Unlike the Bloodthirster and Lord of Change, whose sheer size lets them land in difficult terrain without a test, a Chaos Lord with Daemonic Stature and Daemonic Flight gets no such immunity and must test normally. A model with Daemonic Flight who joins a unit of Raptors cannot use the Raptors' Hit and Run ability, since Hit and Run is not itself a Veteran skill they're sharing.
