Famous Regiments

Each of these regiments is built using five (or occasionally more, reflecting a particularly storied history) Doctrine selections from Restricted Troops, Alternate Regimental Organisation, Skills and Drills, and Special Equipment.

Errata — Chapter Approved: Codex: Imperial Guard Q&A (v1.0): A regiment with more than five Doctrines listed here gets the full benefit of all of them, not just five — the extra length simply reflects that regiment's particularly storied history. Codex: Eye of Terror's Cadian entry lacks a 0-1 restriction on its Hardened Veterans option, which might imply more than one is allowed — but Cadians in this Codex don't have access to the Hardened Veterans Doctrine at all; the Eye of Terror entry doesn't remove the 0-1 constraint, it simply means Cadians use the Codex: Imperial Guard Hardened Veterans entry with all of its normal restrictions.
