Type: Tank. Crew: Imperial Guard.

Weapons: Turret-mounted Inferno cannon and hull-mounted heavy bolter.

Special Rule

Inferno cannon. The Inferno cannon fires a lethal gout of flame over considerable distances. Its profile is as follows:

Range 24" Strength 6 AP 4 Heavy 1, Template

When firing the inferno cannon, designate a target unit and place the normal flamer template so that it is at least partially over as many unit members as possible. The whole template must be in range and line of sight. Roll to hit once, using the Hellhound's BS. If you hit, then all models partially or wholly under the template are hit. If you miss, they are each hit on a roll of 4+.

Errata — Chapter Approved: Codex: Imperial Guard Q&A (v1.0): Covering "as many unit members as possible" will often mean placing the template sideways over the unit, rather than pointed at the Hellhound — that's correct. If maximising coverage would put the template out of range or line of sight, range and line of sight take priority over coverage. The Hellhound's armour values and the Priest's profile are given differently on the quick reference sheet than in their own list entries — the list entry is correct in both cases.
