Chaos Hound
Follower. The character is accompanied by up to four ferocious Chaos Hounds, each costing 12 points.
The hounds use the following profile: -
| WS | BS | S | T | W | I | A | Ld | Sv |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 4 | 0 | 4 | 4 | 1 | 4 | 2 | 9 | 6+ |
Chaos Hounds move at the same speed as their Master so if he has moves 12" in the Movement phase they may move 12" in the Movement phase; if he is able to move 12" in the Assault phase they may move 12" in the Assault phase. Hounds do not have to take Difficult Terrain tests. Hounds are removed if their master is killed. Hounds may board the same transport as their master and take a single space each just as additional Chaos Space Marines would.
Errata — Chapter Approved: Codex: Chaos Space Marines Q&A (v3.0): Chaos Hounds (and Thralls and Chaos Spawn) always move at their owner's speed as infantry — his speed is not increased if he has Daemonic Speed, Daemonic Flight, or a Steed, since these followers have none of those abilities themselves; a Chaos Spawn follower is the sole exception, since it's reasonable to let a Spawn keep pace with a raging owner subject to Blood Rage. If an Independent Character with followers is on his own (not joined to another unit), he and his followers may be targeted as a unit by enemy shooting, the same as any character with an attached retinue — but he may still join another unit normally if his only followers are 'wargear' followers like these.
