The barbed strangler is a seed fired from a simple launcher which is little more than a muscled tube. The strangler seed-pod grows to maturity in seconds, spreading and growing in all directions with blinding speed, sending out hooked tendrils to bind and then tear apart its prey. Studies of the creature have revealed it to be plant-like with similarities to some terrestrial xenomorphs.
