Points/Model WS BS S T W I A Ld Sv
Wyches 12 4 4 3 3 1 6 1 8 6+
Wych Succubus +8 4 4 3 3 1 6 2 8 6+

Squad: The squad consists of between five and twenty Wyches.

Weapons: Splinter pistol and close combat weapon.

Options: Up to two models may be armed with a shredder at +10 pts or a blaster at +5 pts. All models in the squad may be armed with plasma grenades at +1 pts per model and/or haywire grenades at +4 pts per model. All models in the squad may be armed with Wych weapons at the cost of +1 pt per model, but still count as having a splinter pistol and close combat weapon (or shredder or blaster if this is taken).

Character: One of the Wych models can be upgraded to a Wych Succubus at an additional cost of +8 pts. The Wych Succubus is armed with a splinter pistol & close combat weapon. The Wych Succubus may also choose extra equipment from the Armoury.

Raider: If the squad has ten or less models they can be mounted on a Raider at an extra cost of +55 pts.

Special Rules

Combat Drugs: Wyches use combat drugs to artificially boost their already finely honed abilities. Roll a D6 for each Wych squad at the start of the battle to see what effect the vile narcotics have on the unit. The effect lasts for the entire battle. If the Wych Succubus leading the squad has a combat drug dispenser then its effects only apply to them and replace the effects of the squad's own evil concoctions.

D6 Result
1 May make a 12" assault move and a 3D6" pursuit or fall back move.
2 +1 WS
3 +1 S
4 Always strikes first
5 Re-roll any misses in close combat.
6 +1 Attack

Dodge: Wyches are adept at dancing lithely out of harm's way. They receive a 4+ Invulnerable save whilst fighting in assault. However, their armour save versus shooting attacks is still 6+.

Wych Weapons: This is a broad category that represents all the various instruments of pain used by the gladiatorial Wyches, such as shardnets, impalers, hydraknives and razorsnares. These have the following effects:

  • No member of a unit fighting the Wyches in close combat counts as being equipped with an additional close combat weapon.
  • All enemies with an unmodified Strength below 6 halve their WS characteristic (rounding up) for attacks made against the Wyches. Models with a Strength of 6 or more are unaffected.

Note that it is assumed that the Wych weapons are evenly distributed amongst the squad; it is irrelevant which actual models display them, so long as at least a small number do.

Errata — Chapter Approved: Codex: Dark Eldar Q&A (v2.0): Troops that always hit on a fixed number regardless of relative Weapon Skill (such as Black Templars hitting on 3+) are unaffected by the Wych weapons' WS-halving effect, since there's no relative WS comparison for it to halve. If an enemy unit is attacking both a Wych unit and a non-Wych unit (eg a Warrior unit) in the same combat, only the enemy models actually directed against the Wyches have their WS halved — the rest of that enemy unit fights normally.

If you have any squads of Wyches in your army you may take one pack of Warp Beasts. The Warp Beasts are a separate unit, but do not count as a separate Elites choice with regard to the number of Elite units you may have in the army.
